Block Height

The number of blocks that have been added to the Zcash blockchain since the genesis block.

Block height is a running count of blocks on the Zcash blockchain, starting from 0 at the genesis block (October 2016). Protocol events like network upgrades and halvings are scheduled to activate at specific block heights rather than calendar dates, since block production time can vary slightly.
