Transparent address activity is public on the Zcash blockchain. Shielded and Unified addresses work differently and keep balances and transaction history private — this explorer never attempts to reveal them.
What you can look up
Every Zcash transaction, block, and transparent address is recorded on a public ledger that anyone can inspect — this Explorer reads that ledger directly and shows you what's there. Paste in a transaction ID to see its confirmations and how value moved; enter a block height or hash to see every transaction confirmed together; or search a t1/t3 address to see its balance and transaction history.
Transparent (t1/t3) addresses work like a normal public ledger, similar to Bitcoin: balances and transaction history are visible to anyone who looks, which is exactly what makes this kind of explorer possible. Shielded and Unified addresses are built differently on purpose. Their balances, transaction history, and the amounts involved are encrypted using zero-knowledge proofs, so this Explorer — like any block explorer — has nothing to show for them beyond the fact that a shielded transaction happened.
