Block Subsidy
The newly issued ZEC created in every block, which the protocol divides between the miner and any active funding streams.
The block subsidy is the new ZEC each block creates. It is separate from the transaction fees paid in that block, and it is cut at each halving.
Not all of it goes to the miner. Under the funding rules in effect since NU6.1, 8% of the subsidy is directed to Zcash Community Grants and 12% accrues toward the Coinholder-Controlled Fund; the rest goes to the miner. Those percentages are set by the protocol's funding-stream rules and can only change through a network upgrade.
