Shielding / Deshielding
Moving funds from a transparent address into the shielded pool (shielding), or back out (deshielding).
"Shielding" means sending ZEC from a transparent address into a shielded address, moving it into the private shielded pool. "Deshielding" is the reverse — moving ZEC from a shielded address back out to a transparent one, which reveals the amount involved (though not necessarily the shielded sender's other activity).
Because exchanges often only support transparent addresses, a common pattern is to receive ZEC transparently and then shield it immediately into your own private address.
