The Zcash Foundation has released Zebra 7.1.0-alpha.0, nicknamed Ándale, a testing build designed to improve mining performance and pool compatibility.
The update includes faster mining template generation, faster block acceptance and relay, improved compatibility with mining pools, and faster reaction to new chain tips. The overall goal is to reduce the time lag between new transactions entering the network, blocks being mined, and updated work reaching miners.
The Foundation emphasizes that this is an alpha testing release and not a stable production version. Zebra 7.0.0 remains the stable NU7-ready release for normal mainnet operation. Miners and mining pool operators can use Ándale to preview upcoming performance improvements in Zebra.
