Last weekend the Zcash network got busy – and private.

A normal day lately: 7,000–8,000

The striking part: around 14,000–15,000 of them per day were fully shielded – sender, receiver and amount all encrypted. Most of them ran through Ironwood, Zcash's newest shielded pool.

Activity has since come down, but fully shielded transactions are still well above early-October levels (2,700–4,500 a day this week vs. about 1,000 before).

Who drove the spike isn't public – and on a privacy chain, that's kind of the point. 😉
