Zcash has officially activated the NU7 network upgrade on testnet at block 4,465,026. The activation marks a significant milestone in the development cycle ahead of the planned mainnet rollout.
The testnet activation includes three key changes: a reduction in block time from 75 seconds to 25 seconds, the disabling of version 4 transactions, and the introduction of a Network Sustainability Mechanism (NSM). These modifications are being tested on testnet before the upgrade is deployed to the main network.
The mainnet activation has not yet occurred.
