Zcash's next major network upgrade, NU7, has achieved code-complete status in Zebra, the implementation moving the upgrade closer to network activation.
Testnet activation is set for block 4,465,026, with the mainnet activation height expected to be finalized on October 20. The planned mainnet activation date is November 5, 2026.
NU7 includes significant protocol changes, notably a shift toward 25-second block times. The upgrade now enters the testing phase.
