Zcash coinholders have approved 17 proposals in the Q3 Coinholder-Directed Retroactive Grants round, representing approximately $8.39 million in funding.
The largest single award was a $1.95 million grant to the Zcash Open Development Lab (ZODL) for core protocol work performed during the first half of 2026. According to ZODL, that work included remediation of 10 major vulnerabilities, core protocol security efforts, progress on post-quantum specifications, consensus specification development, and 162 merged pull requests.
The broader grant round funded proposals across protocol security, infrastructure, wallet research and development, and business integrations. The grants are retroactive in nature, meaning they reward work that has already been completed rather than funding promised future development.
