🔐 Shielded Zcash + Ledger: Ironwood Transaction Successfully Demonstrated

A major step toward hardware-secured shielded Zcash transactions.

Cake Wallet founder Vik Sharma has demonstrated Zcash Ironwood working with Cake Wallet and a Ledger hardware device.

In the video, a 0.001 ZEC transaction is prepared inside Cake Wallet and then signed on the connected Ledger device, ending with confirmation that the transaction was successfully signed.

This matters because combining shielded ZEC with hardware-wallet signing brings two important features together: Zcash privacy and protection of private keys on dedicated hardware.

The demonstration is an important integration milestone, although it should not yet be confused with an official announcement that full shielded Zcash support has been publicly released to all Ledger users.

If the integration reaches general release, it could significantly improve the security and usability of shielded ZEC for hardware-wallet users.
