More than four decades ago, Steve Jobs was already warning about the privacy implications of electronic financial transactions.
Speaking at the 1983 International Design Conference in Aspen, Jobs explained that electronic payments could create a record of a person's whereabouts — revealing far more about our lives than most people realized at the time.
43 years later, that concern feels remarkably relevant.
Every transparent blockchain transaction creates a permanent public record. Addresses, balances and transaction histories can potentially be analyzed and connected.
This is exactly the problem Zcash was designed to address.
🛡 With shielded transactions and zero-knowledge proofs, Zcash allows transactions to be verified without publicly exposing sensitive financial information.
Privacy isn't about having something to hide.
It's about deciding what you choose to reveal.
