Zcash is facing an increasingly crowded short market as ZEC continues to hold above the $1,100 area.
According to CoinGlass data cited by AMBCrypto, 72.05% of Binance top trader accounts were positioned short, compared with just 27.95% long — pushing the Long/Short ratio down to 0.39.
That creates an interesting setup.
If ZEC maintains its strength and pushes higher, heavily positioned short traders could be forced to close their positions — potentially adding additional buying pressure and triggering another short squeeze.
We've already seen how powerful this dynamic can become: during ZEC's recent move above $1,000, approximately $34.5 million in short positions were liquidated.
However, leverage is currently cooling. Open Interest reportedly dropped 11.49% to $2.41B, while derivatives trading volume declined 42.06% to $5.99B.
The battle is clear:
🐻 72% of top trader accounts are short.
🛡 ZEC is still holding above $1,100.
If buyers remain in control, shorts could once again become fuel for the next move higher.
If support fails, however, declining Open Interest suggests traders are already beginning to reduce risk.
