An $8,000 Zcash price may sound extreme — but historically, the valuation required isn’t unprecedented.
In a recent discussion on The Rollup, Robbie Klages highlighted the long-term ZEC/BTC ratio, pointing out that Zcash traded at significantly higher valuations against Bitcoin during periods in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
The key level: 0.1 BTC per ZEC.
Reaching that ratio again could put ZEC into a multi-thousand-dollar price range, depending on Bitcoin’s price. In other words, an $8,000 ZEC wouldn’t necessarily require Zcash to enter completely unexplored territory relative to BTC.
The thesis goes beyond a simple price target.
After years of massive underperformance against Bitcoin, Zcash is undergoing a major repricing as privacy, scarcity and financial sovereignty return to the center of the crypto narrative.
The question isn’t whether $8,000 is guaranteed — it clearly isn’t.
The question is whether Zcash can reclaim valuation levels against Bitcoin that the market has already seen before.
And historically, the answer is yes.
