🚀 ZCASH BULL RUN MAY STILL BE EARLY — OPEN INTEREST TELLS A DIFFERENT STORY
Zcash has surged more than 128% over the past 30 days, briefly reaching $1,254 — but despite the explosive move, derivatives data suggests the rally may not be as overheated as the price alone implies.
According to FXEmpire, ZEC Open Interest reached approximately $2.8 billion on September 6, marking a new all-time high in USD terms.
But there’s an important detail.
Measured in ZEC rather than dollars, Open Interest currently stands at roughly 2.39 million ZEC — still below the 2.56 million ZEC peak recorded in December 2025.
This suggests that the record dollar value of leveraged positions is partly a consequence of ZEC’s much higher price, rather than an unprecedented amount of ZEC being committed to derivatives markets.
📈 THE LONG-TERM SETUP
The analysis points to ZEC’s breakout above the ~$680 area, confirming a major ascending-triangle structure.
If the bullish structure continues to hold, the projected long-term technical target remains around $2,500.
⚠️ SHORT-TERM RISK REMAINS
The rally has moved extremely fast. ZEC’s daily RSI recently reached 87, while a slight bearish divergence has emerged.
That leaves the market vulnerable to a short-term correction or consolidation despite the broader bullish structure. The analysis identifies the $860 region as a potential area to watch during a deeper pullback.
Bottom line: Zcash remains technically strong, and derivatives positioning suggests the broader bull cycle may still have room to develop. But after such an aggressive rally, volatility and sharp corrections should be expected.
